COLUMBUS, Ohio – As happened so often the past decade, Michigan’s dreams died in Columbus.This time it was the basketball team’s perfect 16-0 run and opportunity to take the nation’s No. 1 ranking, both which vanished as the Wolverines fell just short in a 56-53 loss today at Value City Arena. While some may take solace in an impressive comeback from a 21-point deficit to tie the game with six minutes left and another chance to tie with about 13.9 left – Trey Burke missed a three when U-M trailed 52-50 – it wasn’t enough.Burke led the Wolverines (16-1) with 15 points and Tim Hardaway Jr. had 12, but the glaring number was Nik Stauskas’ zero.Michigan made its second-half run slowly, chipping away at the 12-point halftime margin.Most of the work was done by attacking the basket, not from long distance, at least until Tim Hardaway Jr. and Glenn Robinson III hit consecutive threes to tie the game at 46 with six minutes remaining.Then the Wolverines got too three-point happy.Instead of attacking the basket, they started launching threes, Ohio State answered at the rim and they never got even again.All that was necessary after the first half was about as miserable as U-M could imagine. Garage door companies can easily handle the entire job, and any repairs if needed. Prices vary, but often run $250 to $300 for full service. Springs that can counterbalance a garage door often 250 pounds and up can unexpectedly release enough force to send metal parts flying. Torsion springs are the big ones on a rod over the door. Older doors may have one that stores tremendous force. Most newer doors have two, which raises another wrinkle. One is a left-hand wind, the other a right-hand wind. You don't get them in the right place facing the right way and it's trouble. The coiled power is contained at each end with a metal cap, called a winding cone. If you release its holding keys without maintaining tension with a winding bar it can send the metal cap through the walls of a water heater. Cables also pose problems. You have to unload their tension, and lock the door in that position to work on them. Garage doors create a lot of vibration that can loosen them over time. On automatic systems check fasteners particularly at the mounting near the top of the door where the lifting handle is attached. It takes the greatest load. Then check the rollers. If you can wobble them in the track they won't glide smoothly and they'll make a racket. To replace one, undo enough bolts on the holding hinge to slide out the bar that's attached to the wheel. Then remove the wheel from the track and install a new one in reverse order. In dusty environments, wipe the photo eye sensors that trigger reversing when an object breaks the beam as the door is closing. Finish the job by conducting four simple tests: Balance. Close the door, disconnect the opener, and you should be able to lift the door easily and it should stay open. Force. As an automatic door closes, briefly tug up on the bottom panel with moderate pressure. The door should reverse. Reverse. Place a block in the path of the door. It should quickly reverse on contact. Photo cell. Press the close button, wave a stick to break the beam between sensors and the door should reverse.
