Posted by Michael David Smith on January 14, 2013, 4:50 PM EST APSan Francisco quarterback had an unprecedented running performance, Denver s had an unprecedented returning performance, and the Patriots keep winning games behind s passing.Kaepernick, Holliday and Brady all set NFL records over the weekend, which we ll detail below:Most rushing yards, quarterback, single game: Colin Kaepernick s 181 rushing yards were the most ever for a quarterback in any NFL game, regular season or postseason. Of the Top 5 quarterback rushing games in NFL history prior to this weekend, three belonged to , one belonged to Tobin Rote of the 1951 Packers, and one was the 138-yard game by Redskins quarterback in Week Six of the 2012 season.Longest playoff punt return: Trindon Holliday s 90-yard punt return touchdown in the first quarter against the Ravens was the longest punt return in NFL postseason history. The previous record for the longest punt return was held by Baltimore s Jermaine Lewis, who had an 88-yard touchdown against the Steelers in the 2001 divisional round.Longest playoff kickoff return: Holliday s 104-yard kickoff return in the third quarter against the Ravens was the longest kickoff return in NFL postseason history. The previous record for the longest kickoff return was held by Atlanta s , who had a 102-yard touchdown against the Packers in the 2010 divisional round. Most combined kick return yards in a playoff game: Holliday s 248 combined kick return yards were the most in NFL postseason history, breaking a record previously shared by Andre Coleman of the Chargers and Desmond Howard of the Packers, both of whom had 244 combined kick return yards in a game, both in Super Bowls. (Howard was MVP of the Packers Super Bowl XXXI win, while Coleman benefitted from getting a whole lot of chances to return kickoffs in the Chargers {keyword} areer postseason wins by a starting quarterback: The Patriots are now 17-6 with Brady as their starter in the playoffs, moving Brady ahead of Joe Montana for the most wins ever by a starting quarterback in the postseason. Most career postseason attempts and co {keyword} mpletions: Brady already owned both of these records, but on Saturday he became the first player in NFL history to surpass 800 playoff passes and complete 500 playoff passes. COLUMBUS, Ohio – As happened so often the past decade, Michigan’s dreams died in Columbus. This time it was the basketball team’s perfect 16-0 run and opportunity to take the nation’s No. 1 ranking, both which vanished as the Wolverines fell just short in a 56-53 loss today at Value City Arena. While some may take solace in an impressive comeback from a 21-point deficit to tie the game with six minutes left and another chance to tie with about 13.9 left – Trey Burke missed a three when U-M trailed 52-50 – it wasn’t enough.Burke led the Wolverines (16-1) with 15 points and Tim Hardaway Jr. had 12, but the glaring number was Nik Stauskas’ zero.Michigan made its second-half run slowly, chipping away at the 12-point halftime margin. Most of the work was done by attacking the basket, not from long distance, at least until Tim Hardaway Jr. and Glenn Robinson III hit consecutive threes to tie the game at 46 with six minutes remaining. Then the Wolverines got too three-point happy.Instead of attacking the basket, they started launching threes, Ohio State answered at the rim and they never got even again. All that was necessary after the first half was about as miserable as U-M could imagine. After Burke opened the game with a three-pointer, Ohio State dropped the avalanche, ripping off a 16-point run.Michigan helped the cause, committing nine first half turnovers, matching its season average, leading to 16 Ohio State points off them.Riding their star, DeShaun Thomas, who had 11 at halftime, the Buckeyes stretched it to 21 points with seven minutes left in the half.Michigan climbed back, closing it to 12 by halftime, but with a season-low 22 points at the half, the Wolverines dug enough of a hole that even the second-half comeback would take significant energy.Contact Mark Snyder: msnyder@freepress.com. "Our mindset was straight on her," Williams said of Corrigan, a Southern Illinois recruit who was held to eight points, three of which came in the first three quarters. "Our No. 1 priority was to face guard her."Drawing that assignment for most of the night was the Bengals' top scorer, guard Nikia Edom. Her work in keeping the ball out of Corrigan's hands forced the host Tigers (7-9, 2-3) to try to find others to manufacture offense. They couldn't, committing 29 turnovers in the process and shooting 12-for-52 from the floor.Williams, who missed the first outing with a knee injury, made her presence known from the opening tip. She scored all of the Bengals' 14 first-quarter points and had 18 of her game-high 22 points by halftime. Thanks largely to Williams' fast start, East (16-2, 6-0) led 34-20 at halftime and by more than 20 points for most of the second half."The team came out ready to play tonight," Edom said. "We were hyped up because of what happened last time and we all had each other's back."Player of the game: Gabby Williams, Plainfield East, 22 points, 17 rebounds.Key performers: Plainfield East Nikia Edom, 12 points; Lashae Singleton, 12 points. Plainfield North Kaitlyn O'Boye, 9 points; Brittany Wayne, 8 points (8-for-8 FT).

Garage door companies can easily handle the entire job, and any repairs if needed. Prices vary, but often run $250 to $300 for full service. That's normally a couple of hours for a mechanic and helper, and includes oiling, checking springs, tightening any loose fittings, re-balancing the door if needed, checking the motor and force settings, checking hinges and rollers, and testing the safety components. Most companies have it down pat, and carry extra rollers and other parts in case replacements are needed.Jobs for prosProfessionals should always handle springs and cables. Some DIY videos show how to replace them. But you'll notice special tools like winding rods to coil and uncoil torsion springs, and the strength it takes to use them. Springs that can counterbalance a garage door often 250 pounds and up can unexpectedly release enough force to send metal parts flying. Torsion springs are the big ones on a rod over the door. Older doors may have one that stores tremendous force. Most newer doors have two, which raises another wrinkle. One is a left-hand wind, the other a right-hand wind. You don't get them in the right place facing the right way and it's trouble. The coiled power is contained at each end with a metal cap, called a winding cone. If you release its holding keys without maintaining tension with a winding bar it can send the metal cap through the walls of a water heater. Cables also pose problems. You have to unload their tension, and lock the door in that position to work on them. And unless their tension, length and attaching points are correct they can snap.Jobs for DIYersEven for the basics you'll need a socket set or wrenches and a screwdriver to tighten loose screws and bolts. Garage doors create a lot of vibration that can loosen them over time. On automatic systems check fasteners particularly at the mounting near the top of the door where the lifting handle is attached. It takes the greatest load. Then check the rollers. If you can wobble them in the track they won't glide smoothly and they'll make a racket. To replace one, undo enough bolts on the holding hinge to slide out the bar that's attached to the wheel. Then remove the wheel from the track and install a new one in reverse order. In dusty environments, wipe the photo eye sensors that trigger reversing when an object breaks the beam as the door is closing. Finish the job by conducting four simple tests: Balance. Close the door, disconnect the opener, and you should be able to lift the door easily and it should stay open. Force. As an automatic door closes, briefly tug up on the bottom panel with moderate pressure. The door should reverse. Reverse. Place a block in the path of the door. It should quickly reverse on contact. Photo cell. Press the close button, wave a stick to break the beam between sensors and the door should reverse.
